Sector basic data describing water supply and sewerage in the Czech republic continue in icreasing trend of the population connected to public water supply and sewerage in 2020 (Annual reports of the Ministry of Agriculture analyzed by SOVAK CZ).
In European countries comparison from 2020 (based on data from 2018), the Czech Republic ranks 15/16 in the length of the water supply/sewerage network calculated per population (EurEau).
In recent years, there has been a persistent trend in the production and consumption of drinking water, the amount of wastewater discharged is slightly increasing (Annual reports of the Ministry of Agriculture analyzed by SOVAK CZ).
The Czech Republic consider water losses in the network to be a very important indicator, which increased slightly in 2020 compared to 2019.
Nevertheless, the trend of recent years points to effective investment in the most modern technologies of the water supply infrastructure as well as targeted and systematic repairs of the water supply network.
